I need somebody to help me handle a wrongful termination, Call a lawyer. I need help handling a lawsuit that I believe is wrong. Get a lawyer. I need help to determine who gets custody after a divorce. Get a lawyer. These are a few of the many problems that are able to be solved by lawyers. From entertainment lawyers to immigration lawyers, the possibilities are infinite.

With sharp minds and listening skills, lawyers are necessary in today’s world. Especially when most countries rely on the basis of law and government, they need someone to help debunk the wrong doings and share their knowledge to help do things right. O’Hare informs, “They work to represent individuals and corporations in civil trials, and to promote justice in criminal trials. Attorneys work as advisors to their clients, informing them of their rights, the processes of law and help them navigate the sometimes-tricky legal system.” Lawyers can help citizens understand their rights also. Teachers, doctors, business owners, construction workers, each and every profession has an invisible knot tied to law in some way, shape, or form. That proves that there are multiple ways to help as a lawyer.

Furthermore, lawyers stand up for people and advocate for those who cannot do it themselves. Though it’s hard work and requires going through a difficult law school, being a lawyer seems to be a very rewarding job. You can also do pro bono work and help low-income families who need legal help, but can’t afford it. This is a remarkable opportunity to contribute to society and help those who need someone to advocate for them.

Law also has a close relationship with business, Anand briefs, “It is vital to understand that lawyers contribute every single day not only to making businesses sustainable, but to helping them flourish. By completing business and contractual obligations and commercial transactions, resolving disputes, facilitating the flow of funds and investments, encouraging innovation through the protection of intellectual property rights, and advising entrepreneurs on viable business solutions, lawyers are able to positively impact the growth of the economy.” Lawyers are able to impact the economy, therefore impacting the future of their country as a whole.

Lastly, lawyers have a substantial relationship to politics. They have the chance to get closely involved with the similarities of their jobs. Whittington, from Princeton University, discloses, “Law and politics are deeply intertwined. Law is an essential tool of government action, an instrument with which the government tries to influence society. Law is also the means by which the government itself is structured, regulated and controlled. It is no surprise, then, that law is an important prize in the political struggle and that law shapes how politics is conducted.” So, a lawyer can always shift their view on politics if desired.

To sum up everything I stated so far, lawyers make a huge impact on today’s society, especially since they are a vital part of our community. They also are compassionate, smart, and creative. This is why I want to become a lawyer.
