Zodiac signs are these 12 different signs that many people believe can say things about someone’s character. The 12 signs are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Out of these 12 signs, each person has one sign and your sign is decided on when you were born. Throughout America, 30% of the people believe in zodiac signs so there must be some logical explanation as to why people believe in zodiacs. Astrologers predict people’s horoscopes and try to say stuff about people such as their personality and their character traits based on these zodiac signs. All of these predictions and theories aren’t things that astrologers just guess. There are scientific explanations as to why these predictions are made.

Zodiac signs were first created by Babylonians who lived over 3,000 years ago. They split the zodiac, which is a belt of heavens in outer space, into 12 equal parts. They assigned 1 of the 12 parts to each month of the Babylonian calendar so your sign would be decided on which month you were born in. The calendars we use today are different than the Babylonian calendars so that’s why the dates for each zodiac sign aren’t exactly for each month. For example, the sign Capricorn is from December 22 to January 19 instead of from January 1 to January 31. The Babylonians started this but the Greeks and Romans later adapted to this system.

To make predictions about someone, astrologers have to look at various different things.

One thing astrologers look at to guess people’s horoscopes are stars. Stars don’t move but the reason all the stars never seem to be in the same place is that the Earth moves on an axis. Since the Earth moves, it looks like the stars move, too. These stars make different shapes and outlines, known as constellations, which the astrologers look at. Constellations usually make the shape of something, such as an animal, which the astrologers observe to make a prediction.

Another thing astrologers look at to predict people’s horoscopes are planets. As you know, the planets are always moving as they are always going around in their orbit around the Sun. The planets are always in a different spot so astrologers also reference the position of the planets to make their predictions.

Lastly, astrologers look at the Sun and the Moon to guess people’s horoscopes. Although the Sun doesn’t move, the Earth does so the Sun is always in a different place with respect to the position of the Earth and they look at that position for their prediction. Additionally, they also take into account the positions of the moon and any eclipses. For example, for one zodiac sign, a solar eclipse is good luck but for another sign, it’s bad luck.

As you can see, there are several factors astrologers have to keep in mind to make their predictions. They mostly look at the position of different objects in space such as planets and stars to make their predictions about each zodiac sign. For example, if Saturn is at this position of the orbit, something positive may happen to Cancers but something negative may happen to Libras. With all of these things in mind, you can see that the horoscope for each zodiac sign is predicted after looking at many different things and isn’t just a random guess.99
