Introduction

There are many ways people know what is happening around the world with the daily News, Phones, and TV. But who is the person to take the action for most of world? It is none other than International Criminal Police Organization also known as INTERPOL. For more than one hundred years police work together to make this world a better place.

What is Interpol?

Imagine you are the victim of the person that committed a crime from another country. Wouldn’t it be hard to find the person that committed a crime? That’s why Interpol is here. There are 194 countries that are members of Interpol. There are lots of crimes that Interpol takes care of. The three main crimes are cyber crime, organized crime, and counter-terrorism.

Who makes up INTERPOL

The General Secretariat makes the day-today activities for Interpol which is run by the Secretary General. It is operated by both police and civilians. The INTERPOL headquarters in Lyon and global complex for innovation in Singapore and several satellite offices in different regions. In each country, an INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) usually provides the central point of contact for the General Secretariat and other NCBs. An NCB is run by national police officials and usually sits in the government ministry responsible for policing.

Emblem and Flag

The emblem and flag of Interpol. There are a lot of hidden meanings in this one emblem. The first meaning is the globe to tell that their activities are worldwide. The second meaning is the olive branches symbolizing peace. The third meaning is the scales to show justice. Another meaning in the emblem is the vertical sword going down the globe which indicates police action. In the flag there is just one more hidden meaning. There are four lightning flashes to Symbolize telecommunication and speed in police actions.



How to get into Interpol?

If you are done with your studies and if you’re interested on becoming an Interpol you could get an internship. Internship means when you get to try out the job to get experience on how Interpol works, but you don’t get paid. You are mostly going to get an internship at Lyon, France or Singapore. You can still get internships at other areas, but you are most likely to get an internship at Lyon, France or Singapore. There are a lot of jobs in Interpol. For example, there can be a micro-computer technician or you could even be an IT support enterprise architect. These all still help the Interpol organization. Remembrance

Every minute in a day women and men police are serving for the greater good or trying to help this world to become a better place. Still they have such a big price. Every year there are at least 5 thousand police officers injured and some may even die. At Interpol they believe to honor all those police officers and their families they have left behind. Every 7th in March there is an international day of remembrance for police officers at Interpol headquarters (Singapore and Lyon in France) There is a video about this. Conclusion

Many police die in battle so we can have our everyday life. If you yourself be careful of your surroundings or the internet it would help this police community a lot. You should try your best to be a good friend and don’t become a big bully. The better of a person you are, the better this world will become. Be proud of where, how, and what type of person you are, a good person who helps this organization or a bad person who essentially is helping the criminals. Just think about it. Which type are you?
