Summary of Previous Workshops
Throughout my series of pediatric neurology workshops, I have researched various aspects of pediatric neurology and the speciality’s relation to the medical field as a whole. I first dissected pediatric neurology into pediatrics and neurology to understand how those two specialities intertwined to form pediatric neurology. I then identified that pediatrics related to the healthcare of children while neurology involved treating conditions that affected the nervous system, so pediatric neurology involved treating neurological disorders in children. I also explained the pivotal role pediatric neurologists could play in a patient’s life since forming a proper relationship with their pediatric neurologist could help the patient better cope with their neurological condition. Moreover, I discussed the most recent advances and technological developments in the field of pediatric neurology, which included intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging, gene therapy, and Mueller polarimetric imaging.
